Evil?
ok, well, maybe not overtly Evil, but they are certainly powerful. Powerful too often leads to evil.

Has Google become evil?
Google's famous motto was "Do no evil". Has it outlived that motto?
Google bought DoubleClick, which many people thought performed underhanded, sneaky and unscroupulous cookie manipiulation in order to track people accross multiple websites. Google seems to have taken their DoubleClick brand and extended it in ways that only Google could.
Adsense allows many small merchants and indiviuduals to make a little bit of money by blogging or vuilding otherwise small, niche websites. Do a Google Search on "Adsense unfair" though, and you'll find many examples of people who got cut off just as they were about to make a few hundred dollars. Add on to this suspicious behaviour the fact that there is no appeals process and no outside auditing of the judgements of this Google near-monopoly and I think the case can be made.
